PEOPLE ARE TALKING

Amateur radio, sometimes referred to as Ham radio, is a long time resource and hobby and is far from being a thing of the past.  In addition to being a fun and challenging hobby, it has proven many times in the past to be a valuable method of communication in times of disaster or emergency.

In recent events such as Hurricane Katrina and the Puerto Rico earthquake, amateur radio was a valuable resource to the affected communities.  When other communication systems such as cell phones, police/fire radios and commercial radio had failed, Ham Radio was still being used extensively.

The Taylorsville HAMnet is pleased to be a part of that communication resource. It is our desire to provide our services for community events and when necessary, emergency communications.

We invite any licensed operators in the Taylorsville City or surrounding areas to join with us in this net.

If you are a licensed Amateur Radio operator and want to join this net, please make contact during the weekly net, or email us @ tville.hamnet@gmail.com.
